How Selling Machine Helped Trimming Shop cross £947k in Sales on Amazon in 5 months.
In the fiercely competitive world of e-commerce, standing out from the crowd and achieving significant sales growth can be a tough challenge. That's where we at selling Machine stepped in to help them maximise their potential on Amazon. In less than six months, our tailored strategies and tram efforts helped our client reach an impressive £947k in sales on Amazon.

Here are the detailed steps for you:

1. Client's Goals and Challenges
When Trimming shop approached us, they were facing several obstacles. They had a fantastic product line but struggled to generate sufficient visibility and sales traction on Amazon. Our first step was to understand their objectives, target audience, and market positioning.

Trimming Shop started out as a factory in West London back in 1985. The creative force behind this venture was Ramesh, who employed 50 or so locals to hand craft and manufacture various types of art & craft accessories.
The business proved to be an incredible success for Ramesh, known fondly as “James Bond” by the local community thanks to his penchant for naming product ranges and other business interests after the famous British spy.
In fact, Trimming Shop - the factory was still going strong right up until the sad and untimely passing of Ramesh in 2009. But, as the saying goes, out of adversity comes opportunity. And so, after a childhood spent inside workshops and learning about tools & techniques, the baton was passed from Ramesh to his eldest son, Ash.
Ash decided to combine what he had learned from his father with the business acumen he had developed in later years, to open an online one-stop craft supply shop. The name of the company? Trimming Shop 007, of course!
Initially, this was an eBay shop that he was operating from his own bedroom. Entire days and nights were spent building the business from scratch to the point where every single square inch of floor space was taken up.
Over the next couple of years, Ash moved the business from his bedroom to his shed and then into a 900 sq. ft. garage as sales grew exponentially.

2. Developing a Comprehensive Strategy:
With a clear understanding of the goals, we crafted a comprehensive strategy tailored to their needs.
Here's how it looked like:

I: Understood the category: The category was DIY which I'd widely used across the UK. Our team constantly improved their knowledge about the category.

II: Optimised Product Listings: We conducted in-depth keyword research to identify high-volume, low-competition keywords relevant to their products.Using this data, we optimised their product listings with compelling titles, persuasive bullet points, and informative descriptions that not only increased visibility but also converted potential customers into buyers.

III: Choosing SKUs : This can be a tricky part because too many or too few can harm the business. So we tried to set up a balanced portfolio. We maintained a balance between products that sell throughout the year and those that perform well during seasons.

IV: Enhanced Visual Content: We collaborated with our client to develop visually appealing product images and engaging lifestyle photographs.By leveraging professional photography and graphic design, we enhanced the overall look and feel of their listings, making them visually enticing to potential buyers. ( This was a bit of a challenge because how often do you see interesting photos of medicines? 😅)

V: Ad Campaigns: We implemented a targeted advertising strategy, leveraging Amazon's tools to reach potential customers at different stages of the buying journey.Through a combination of Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Sponsored Display ads, we ensured their products were prominently displayed to the right audience, resulting in increased sales and brand exposure.

VI: Review Management: We recognized the importance of positive reviews in building trust and credibility.
To encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews, we implemented a strategic review management process, leveraging personalized follow-up emails and other proven tactics. Guess what? We also offered small incentives for customers who left reviews. This resulted in an influx of positive reviews, further boosting Client X's sales and reputation on Amazon.

VII: Monitoring and Continuous Optimization:
Throughout the six-month engagement, our team closely monitored the performance of our client’s Amazon account, collecting data and insights. We fine-tuned our strategies and made data-driven optimizations to further enhance their sales performance. This iterative process allowed us to capitalize on emerging trends, adapt to market changes, and stay ahead of the competition.
